Completion of a chapter

School days-Since my first day of kindergarten and on throughout high school, school for me meant packed lunches, yellow school bus #52, cubbies and lockers, pencil sharpeners, changing classes, and many music programs. That all ended three years ago on June 5th when I recieved my diploma from Shalom Christian Academy.

Three years later on May 24, I will recieve another diploma from a different type of school. This school means harder theological classes, computer lab, pens, dorm rooms, cafeteria food, walks to classes, classroom building, friends and lots of hymn/worship sings. This chapter of my life will soon come to an end in just two weeks. This chapter entitled school, will close with a two year AA degree from Rosedale Bible College.

That chapter will close and yet another will opened entitled, reality. No longer will I be in this little Rosedale bubble. No longer will I have chapel everyday or be living in dorm rooms. No longer will I be surrounded by a encouraging support group. No longer will friends be 'just down the hall.' No longer will I be among 80 peers. This will all end when I go home and live in an old brickhouse called home-back to reality. Reality of paying $4.00 for gas. Reality of looking down to the children I will care for. Reality of being closer to my niece and soon to be nieces. Reality of knowing where I will attend church. Reality of tending flowers. Reality of solitude. Reality of earning money. Reality of the unknown future.

The unknown future is held in God's hands and I trust that for the time being, the best place for me to be is to be at home. I look forward to the opportunities that await me at home. I have seen God's hand at work in the past and I trust that He, who created my inmost being, knows the best course for me to take in the future.

Now, back to the paper.

Snow!

Another snowfall on campus. But this time it's one that we can play in! This afternoon lots of people played in the snow and threw people in it's soft powderiness. The snow really is a nice blanket for campus. The snow enabled people to stay on campus because of the level three status which practically says everyone needs to stay put. So, last night we had watched over the hedge and had amazing pretzels and brownies along with lemonade and hot chocolate! Today I cleaned my room and did laundry; it's nice to wash the dust away and even to have clean sheets. Tonight we had a talent show which spotlighted lots of the talent on campus-from cooking, to juggling, to singing, to dramatizing....what a great group of friends. Tomorrow morning church will be held on campus and then the service tomorrow night is watching the Passion.

Classes and such are going well but they are very detailed and heavy. Oh well, this is the last semester and I need to give it my all.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Winter Term

"Lord You Have my Heart and I will search for yours." I woke up yesterday morning with this song on my mind. This has been a comfort to me as I trust in God to prepare the way for 'after Rosedale' days. I can't wait to see what God has in store.

This term has over all been a term of relaxing and resting. It is not academically demanding which opens doors for socializing. I am getting my work done and in the midst of that God has granted me peace when I've pushed my homework aside and socialized.

This weekend, one of my friends Erica, came out to college for Discover Rosedale. It was so good to see her again! We hadn't seen each other since last February, but have remained in contact through the phone, email, facebook and xanga. She has been a blessing from God and an encouragement to me. It's so nice to have someone who I can relate with on many levels.

Overall life is going well. This weekend is the drama production and salt and light production at school-on top of Discover Rosedale and the superbowl party sunday night.

I need to get back to schoolwork. Take care everyone and Happy February!

First time of picture upload!

Okay, so I'm new to this photo uploading idea, but here are some pictures from this year. Some of they are at the childcare center I work at and the rest of them are from RBC. The one picture with three other girls is of my accountablity group. The one picture with a group of girls was over a weekend when lots of last year RBC students visited. The one picture is of me and Julie, the one with me and Amanda at the banquet (to show my dress), the one is of me and Melissa (just for you, Erica) and one of them is of me and Ben at the banquet. Ben asked me to go with him to the Christmas banquet and so I did. It was a fun evening with good food! Probably the highlight of it all was going bowling with a bunch of friends.

the semester is over..what a relief. Times were tough, but I made it! I learned to be vulnerable with friends and professors. I learned how to publicly speak! I learned to use tri-colons and anaphora..(i think that's what this is). But probably the biggest lesson I learned was to trust God's guidance. He lead me to this point and he will see me through to graduation.

Well, I am preparing for a incredible break full of good food, good fellowship and good friendships, mixed in with work, babysitting, and lots of Christmas fun! Enjoy your holiday!
